Rivers

The only river Sangu flows past Thanchi Upazila Sadar. Originating from the Sangu Reserve Forest, this river flows through all the unions of the upazila and is the lifeblood of Thanchi upazila. Jhiri, Chhara and canals falling into this river are the source of water for the people of the upazila. Communication and economic activities in the remote areas of the upazila are conducted through this river. The river Sangu is flowing through Remakri Khal Thanchi Upazila.
